Lubango — Six new hotels, one of which the State-owned, are under construction and should start operating later this year, with a total investment of over Usd 80 million invested since 2012.

      Speaking to ANGOP, the head of the Provincial Department of Hotels and Tourism, João Silvestre, said that the investments favoured

      undertakings that include four units of the AAA group, all set in the Serra da Chela, one of Infortur and another of the Admar Damiao.

      The source explained that other investments concern the rehabilitation of some hotel units.

      The official stated that 9,533 people are effectively working in the hotel industry in the province, expecting to reach 10,000 until late this year.

      He stated that there are currently 740 hotels and other concerned facilities, providing for 1,671 rooms.
