The prime minister of Cabo Verde, José Maria Neves, Wednesday in Luanda said that the private entrepreneurship will top the debate to recover and strengthen bilateral cooperation with Angola.

     Luanda — The prime minister of Cabo Verde, José Maria Neves, Wednesday in Luanda said that the private entrepreneurship will top the debate to recover and strengthen bilateral cooperation with Angola.

     The Cabo Verdean official was speaking to the press at Luanda's "4 de Fevereiro" International Airport, on arrival for an official visit to Angola.

     He said that the move is part of his Government's strategy to internationalise his country's companies, under the privatisation policy designed for certain services to revive the economy.

     José Maria Neves, who considered excellent the bilateral ties between the two countries, added that what matters at the moment is to increase cooperation.

     This goes with identifying new sectors with reciprocal advantages, as well as the economic-business exchanges with facilities to be created under the future Angola/Cabo Verde Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

     He pointed out the sectors of hotels and tourism, air and maritime transport , agro-business, among other branches, as the main areas of cooperation between the two countries.

     Cabo Verde's premier also defended the expansion of bilateral cooperation to other levels taking into account the economic growth of the two countries.

     He informed that Angolan companies have investments in the African archipelago, with stress to the Angolan Investment Bank (BAI), privately-owned cellphone communication UNITEL , the State-run National Oil Company (Sonangol) , some entrepreneurs involved in the area of hotels and tourism and other sectors.

     Angola and Cabo Verde enjoy excellent relations of cooperation and

     friendship, both in the bilateral framework and at the level of the Portuguese Speaking Community ( CPLP ).

    The two countries institutionalised the Joint Bilateral Commission following the seventh session held in Luanda on 2-5 December 2008.
