Dakar USA Weekend: Senegal, the Land of Investment

Dakar, Senegal(MAT)-The Economic and Commercial Section of the Embassy of the United States and the American Chamber of Commerce in Senegal (AmCham) invite you to the 5th edition of the American Week in Dakar (Dakar USA Weekend) to be held on 27, 28, 29 May 2015 at the Palace of King Fahd Palace Congress.

The theme of this edition is Senegal, the Land of Investment.

The choice of this theme is a desire to support and contribute to the success of Senegal Emergent Plan launched by the President of the Republic of Senegal. We do share the belief that the national and international private sector has an important role to play in achieving this plan.

During his last visit to Senegal, President Obama had emphasized the need to move towards a new model of partnership between America and Africa. Thus, the organizers of the week want an American position as a tool to encourage private investment in Senegal for better economic growth.

Dakar USA Week will take place for three days from 27 to 29 May inclusive, and will include several events: exhibitions and conferences and workshops: the event will close with a gala dinner May 30, 2015.

These are US-funded enterprises or linked by their activities in the United States which will exhibit their products and know-how. USA Weekend Dakar is for Senegalese companies, the general public, students and institutions involved in the country’s economic development. More than 1,000 visitors are expected throughout the period.

USA Weekend is also a series of conferences to exchange information, engage in discussions on business opportunities in Senegal. Thus, four key themes will be highlighted by experts and professionals: Business Environment, Energy, Agribusiness and finally the Digital Economy.
